Who Is Jay?

Jay P. Farrington is the CEO and Founder of Dynamic Leadership Solutions, a company offering real-world leadership training and consulting services to goal-oriented and success-driven businesses looking to develop their emerging leaders, leadership teams, or seasoned executives with a unique emphasis on the leaders because Jay stresses:

“Before you lead others, you need to lead yourself.”

That’s why Jay developed a scalable Leadership Foundation Program with the emerging leader in mind or an entrepreneur who never had formal leadership training.


With an eventful 25 years in San Diego Law Enforcement, and over half that time in leadership positions, Jay has seen the best and worst in leadership. Jay often jokes that he has the record for working for the worst bosses. But he learned a lot about what not to do from those bad bosses.

Jay learned what inspires a team or stifles their spirit. As Jay promoted into leadership positions, he was determined not to make those same mistakes he witnessed and experienced. Therefore, Jay became obsessed with what made some leaders and teams excel while others failed. Jay often reflected on his time in the military and SWAT, where teams were mission-focused and leadership was clear and defined. This motivated Jay to return to college, where he obtained an advanced degree in Organizational Leadership, giving him an expertise in leadership academia and theory complimented with his years in the trenches of leadership.


This created an opportunity where Jay was part of a handpicked group of instructors tasked to create a first-ever San Diego County Regional Leadership Institute. This was a group of mastermind leaders in the private and public sectors who collaborated on creating an up-to-date and relevant leadership training experience for leaders in law enforcement.


Shortly after assisting with the development of the San Diego County Regional Leadership Institute, close friends in the business industry invited Jay to be a part of their San Diego business networking group. Jay suspected they were tired of him talking about leadership and how it affected business success or failure. This is where Jay discovered his true passion and a new calling – coaching people and businesses to achieve success through leadership development. Jay guessed one could say he found another way to protect and serve his community. Since then, Jay has helped struggling entrepreneurs and business leaders with their leadership challenges and team performance.


Jay is passionate about helping entrepreneurs and businesses because he believes that successful businesses are the key to prosperous and safer communities in America. When businesses succeed, they create jobs where people will reinvest their income in local economies and real estate. Jay has seen firsthand how high crime neighborhoods turned around due to an influx of local businesses and homeownership. With that said, the biggest factor in business success or failure is Leadership. Therefore, smart businesses understand to be better and have a future, Leadership Development is the key.
